The Sunday Social Series is done in collaboration with the Keene Heritage Commission and Keene Parks and Recreation Department. The series brings live music to local historic homes and buildings one Sunday afternoon per month. Along with a live concert, there are presentations on the historic importance of the concert venue as well as a talk on other local historic sites. All proceeds from this series go to the renovation fund for the Sumner Knight Chapel. This session's performers are:
The Scott Mullett Trio:
The Scott Mullett Trio is a versatile and energetic jazz group based in Keene, NH. The trio is led by Scott Mullett, a local saxophonist and music educator whose resume includes tours and performances with Woody Herman, Artie Shaw, Lionel Hampton, Tony Bennett, Aretha Franklin, Stan Getz, Lou Rawls, Ben Vereen, and Cab Calloway, among many others. Scott is joined by two of his former students: bassist Steve Cady, Performing Arts Chair at Vermont Academy; and drummer and local educator George Robinson. The Scott Mullett Trio performs frequently in the Monadnock Region and beyond, both as a trio and as part of the Keene Jazz Orchestra - an 18-piece jazz ensemble comprised of many of the area’s top musicians and educators, directed by Scott Mullett.
