Animaterra is a women’s choral group performing music from around the world. Animaterra is open to all women who would love to sing, who are committed to coming to rehearsals and performing with us. New members are welcome to join us at the start of the Spring and Fall seasons. No audition necessary. Rehearsals are held in Keene.
About the Director
Allison Aldrich studied music education and choral directing at Boston University, and discovered folk and traditional music under the influence of John Langstaff, Sandy and Caroline Paton, Caroline Parrott of Songweavers, and other singers and instrumentalists. She has taught elementary music, directed choirs and performed in the Revels. She performs in a duo with her husband, Hunt Smith, singing and playing folk music for schools, concerts, parties, and contra dances, and teaching private music lessons in voice, accordion, concertina, beginning piano, ukulele, and musicianship, and much more. Allison also calls contra and family dances, and teaches folk dance at the Monadnock Waldorf School in Keene, NH.
