Animaterra has two performances of their annual winter concert on December 6 and December 7. This year’s theme is Festivals of Light; the program consists of music from around the world, including Africa, Great Britain, Scandinavia, and Bosnia. Director Allison Aldrich and the chorus convey their deep joy of music throughout their performances; be prepared for an uplifting, feel-good trip around the world! The Saturday concert is at the Keene Unitarian Universalist Church at 7:30 PM. The Sunday Concert begins at 4:00 and is held at the Union Congregational Church in Peterborough. The suggested donation for both concerts is $10 for adults, $6 seniors and children. Proceeds benefit the Monadnock Voices for Prevention.
Animaterra is a women's chorus who offer two main concerts each year, as well as numerous performances throughout the in the Monadnock Region. Their concert programs are of songs from around the world whose themes include family and love, peace and justice. Women of all musical ability are welcome to join; there is no audition or requirement of previous experience. Rehearsals are held Tuesday evenings in Keene.
