The Celebration Brass Band (aka Buzzards Brass Band) is your ticket to the authentic, old-time New Orleans brass band experience in New Hampshire, Vermont, and western Massachusetts. The band is well known for its exuberant street performances in Brattleboro's Strolling of the Heifers and summer Gallery Walks, and the annual Halloween parade of the Rio Blanco Social Club in White River Junction.
The Celebration Brass Band evolved as an offshoot of the New Orleans Brass Band Project, an open workshop founded in 2009 by New Orleans native Pete Simoneaux, for the purpose of developing a community of musicians dedicated to the performance of authentic New Orleans style brass band music in Northern New England.
Repertoire ranges from traditional dirges, rambles, blues & spirituals, to swing, bebop & hard-bop standards. Celebration Brass band maintains an extensive repertoire of traditional and contemporary New Orleans brass band standards, suitable for weddings, funerals and other private and public functions wanting an authentic New Orleans jazz experience.
