Friendly Folk presents a wide range of live acoustic music for audiences of up to 200 people at concerts, restaurants, festivals, and other venues in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Vermont. The quartet performs Irish folk music in the tradition of Makem and Clancy, country ballads, sea shanties and songs of the working class by recognized North American artists such as Stan Rogers, and contemporary originals by local songwriters. Founding member Hal Pederson was lead singer of the Irish folk group, Blarney Stone. His long time singing partner, Jeanne Sable, adds original songs to their repertoire. They recently welcomed folksinger Linda Markey, and sound man Jim Rodger who adds harmonica. The group produces rich vocal harmonies.
