Join singers from around the northern New England area in performing many styles of popular American music. Rehearsals held in Keene on Monday nights from 7:00- 9:00. No audition required. The KPC strives to provide high quality concert programs with a variety of musical styles. Our membership boasts singers aged from 17 to 80+; folks who are employed in and retired from varied professions. We’re from many communities in New Hampshire, Vermont & Massachusetts. Singers with The Pops have a wide range of experience in music. Singers don’t have to audition, but they do have to be able to sing their assigned parts with accurate pitch. Knowing how to read a bit of music helps too, but it isn’t required! The basic goal of the group is to perform in many styles of American popular music, learn good singing technique and have a fun and relaxing time. The Pops enjoys a family atmosphere, with a lot of laughs to go with our work to present the best concerts we can!
Rehearsals are held each Monday evening from 7pm – 9pm at St. James Episcopal Church, located in downtown Keene at 44 West Street. Rehearsals for the fall semester begin the Monday before Labor Day and continue until our Holiday concert, usually the 1st weekend in December. For our spring semester we begin in January, and continue through April, typically performing our Spring program in late April or early May. Please see our concert schedule for the dates! There are membership dues of $40 per semester – these include the cost of music.
The Greater Keene Pops Choir is a non-profit organization. We are supported by member dues, ticket sales, and contributions are gratefully accepted.
