Hunt and Allison

Hunt and AllisonAllison Aldrich and Hunt Smith are multi-talented musicians. Fiddle, guitar, mandolin, accordion, concertina, songs, stories, dances, and unexpected participatory musical experiences are just part of their musical programming. Offering traditional American song and dance, educational programs and concerts, Hunt and Allison are available for schools, libraries, parties, weddings, dances, and jollifications of all sorts! Allison is a graduate of Boston University College of Fine Arts and taught music in public schools for 25 years. From 1976-1996 she performed in the Revels in Hanover, New Hampshire and Cambridge, Massachusetts as singer, dancer and instrumentalist. She has been a choir director and song leader, and is the founder and director of Animaterra Women's Chorus in Keene, NH. She teaches folk dance at the Monadnock Waldorf School in Keene, NH

Hunt is a life-long folk and blues musician playing fiddle, guitar, banjo and mandolin. For fifteen years Hunt taught and played at the John C. Campbell Folk School in Brasstown, North Carolina. He is also well-known as a distinguished maritime artist. Hunt is now making fine violins and violas, obtainable on commission.

They are married, and when Hunt and Allison perform together their music is joyful, exciting, and accessible for all ages. They were married on Sept. 20, 2008 and make their home in Nelson, NH. Hunt and Allison are roster artists for the New Hampshire Council on the Arts "Arts in Education" program.
