Monadnock Chorus is a nonprofit 501c(3) corporation established in 1959. It provides singers the opportunity to perform outstanding choral works, and presents choral music outreach and education programs for the Greater Monadnock community. We give our audiences the chance to hear wonderful choral music performed live right in our own geographical area. The chorus is celebrating its 54th season in 2012-13! Singers from around the Monadnock region perform choral music. Rehearsals are held Wednesday evenings from 7:30 – 9:30 at Union Congregational Church in Peterborough. Voice placement required for new members. If you have never sung with us or have been away from the chorus for two or more consecutive seasons, you will need a voice placement. Voice placements are held the first three Wednesdays of each new season. You do not need to prepare a piece as in an audition – bring yourself and your voice.
Membership dues are $60 per season (Fall and Spring). Full-time student dues are $10 per season. Payment by check, cash or credit card available. Music is approximately $25 per season. Depending on the program, music can be rented. Payment by check, cash or credit card available. To help the chorus achieve the highest possible level of performance skills, chorus members should attend all scheduled rehearsals for the full rehearsal time. Please be prompt! We ask that you not miss more than three rehearsals.
Rehearsals are held Wednesday nights from 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM at the Union Congregational Church, 33 Concord Street in Peterborough. Optional rehearsals are held the first Tuesday of each month for extra practice or to make up a missed rehearsal. The spring 2015 season begins January 14, new members are always welcome!
