Hiroya Tsukamoto performs tomorrow night in Bass Hall at the Monadnock Center for History and Culture in Peterborough.  He is a singer songwriter from Japan who studied at the University of Osaka and then at Berklee College of Music.  His musical style is influenced by  South American  Nueva Cancion ("new song")  which blends folk music with themes of social justice.

Hiroya Tsukamoto founded the band Interoceanico 3, a trio whose sound blends jazz, South American and pop musical styles.  Hiroya Tsukamoto has been awarded the Professional Music Achievement Award.  He has two solo releases and three with his band.
