We are lucky to have many open stages and jams for lovers of live music to enjoy. Often the setting is intimate, home-baked goods are part of the fare, the entertainment is affordable and proceeds usually go to a good cause. Some occur every week; here we feature three that occur the first week of each month in Keene, Peterborough, and Antrim.
Brewbaker’s Open Mic
On the first Wednesday of each month, Brewbaker’s Café hosts an open mic from 7:00 – 9:00. Musicians sign up in advance for a 15 minute slot. There is no admission; plenty of good coffee, tea, cocoa, baked goods as well as sandwiches, soups and salads are served in this popular downtown Keene café.
This Open Mic is held at the Antrim Teen Center on the first Thursday of each month. The music begins at 7:00 and a featured performer plays at 9:00. Suggested donation is $5.00 to support The Grapevine Family and Community Resource Center. This month's featured musician is Kendal Bush.
Held on the first Friday of the month at the Unitarian Universalist Church in Peterborough, this Open Mic begins at 7:30 and has a featured artist at 8:30. Musicians sign up in advance or may sign before the performances begin. Donation is $5.00. This month’s feature is Off the Cuff – a four piece band who covers music of many genres from the 1920’s to modern music.
