Music in Bass Hall is a monthly concert series at the Monadnock Center for History and Culture in Peterborough. Bass Hall is one of the most beautiful venues in the Monadnock Region. Its chestnut-paneled walls provide a warm ambiance, and also give the room excellent acoustical properties. The hall is used for concerts, art shows, lectures, presentations, meetings, and private functions, and is available for rental to individuals, businesses, or organizations. A new addition to Bass Hall is a 1928 Steinway Model L grand piano. This lovely instrument was donated to the Center and it adds considerably to the opportunities for concerts. The Monadnock Center for History and Culture, formerly the Peterborough Historical Society, is a place that is about the past, present and future of our community. The Center celebrates the past through exhibits and programs that explore our region's rich history. The Monadnock Center enhances the present through a variety of programming that enriches our region's cultural life. And the Monadnock Center fosters our future by promoting thoughtful discussion and connection in the region.
