Sweet Honey in the Rock brings its “Celebrating the Holydays” concert to the Colonial Theatre on  Friday, December 12.  The program includes selections of original and traditional music from America and other cultures to celebrate holiday religions and customs from around the world. Expect some Sweet Honey in the Rock classics as well selections from the group’s Nativity Suite.

Sweet Honey in the Rock is a female a Capella group who blends many genres of music, including African, jazz, blues and gospel with vibrant harmonies.  The group’s mission is to preserve African American vocal traditions while addressing issues related to social justice.  Formed in 1973, this award-winning ensemble has enjoyed international recognition and numerous collaborations with other musicians and artists.
