The Stephanie Hurley Trio presents their third annual Valentine’s Jazz concert on Sunday in Bass Hall at the Monadnock Center for History and Culture.
Stephanie Hurley is a vocalist who has performed jazz, rock, classical, and American Irish music throughout her career. Currently she sings with the Temple Dance Band, New England Swing Orchestra and the Bedford Big Band, and is a guest vocalist for other ensembles. She also sings hymns and classical selections biweekly for the Peterborough Christian Scientist Church. She is joined by Chris Albertson on guitar and Lynn Lovell playing stand-up bass. “Chris is new to the area and I met Lynn while singing with the New England Swing Orchestra. I’m thrilled to be playing with them,” said Stephanie in a recent conversation.
Sunday’s concert will feature classic jazz standards from the 30’s and 40’s, with a few Latin and pop songs mixed in. “I will be performing new numbers I haven’t performed before, including a vocal rendition of Moonlight Serenade, which you don’t hear too often,” said Stephanie. “All of the songs will be about romance and sung in jazz style.”
The concert starts at 3:00, light refreshments will be served. For more information and to order tickets, visit the Monadnock Center’s website.
