Yeehaw Jihad was surely feeling the love last night as fans of live, local music, as well as fellow musicians, gathered to celebrate their release of Songs About Rough Sex and Violent Deaths at the Wreck Room in Peterborough.
The evening began with a set by Side Effects May Include (S.E.M.I.) who played songs from their self-titled EP, some new songs, and a rousing rendition – complete with enthusiastic audience participation – of Alice in Chains’ Man in the Box.
Yeehaw Jihad played next. The band was joined by Brad Decatur, who produced the CD, on guitar. Ty Snitko (of S.E.M.I.), who did vocals on three of the songs on the CD, sang with the band for a couple of numbers.
The final act was Honest Thieves, a trio who played original rock tunes with danceable beats, energy and humor to keep the atmosphere festive to the end of the evening.
